October 12, 2009 at 8:00 am by Capitol Avenue Club under Atlanta Braves
Here’s what the Braves’ 2009 draftees did in the Minor leagues this past season:
1 (7) – Mike Minor (LHP).
Minor pitched 14 innings for Class-A Rome, striking out 17 batters, walking none, allowing 10 hits, and 1 run. He finished with a 0.64 ERA, a 0.714 WHIP, and a 17-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Of course he had been facing competition tougher than this for the past three years, so this isn’t particularly meaningful data. We’ll know more after his AFL campaign.
3 – David Hale (RHP).
David Hale pitched 16 innings for the Rookie Danville Braves. He allowed 12 hits, 5 walks, and 4 runs (2 earned). He finished with a 1.12 ERA, a 0.750 WHIP, and a 12-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
4 – Mycal Jones (SS).
Jones hit .258/.337/.430 and stole 19 bases in 23 attempts in 282 PA’s for the Rookie Danville Braves. He hit 4 HR, 6 triples, and 18 doubles while drawing 26 walks and striking out 55 times.

Masters tossed 69 and 2/3 innings for the Danville Braves and finished the year with a 1.42 ERA, a 0.89 WHIP, a 85-to-9 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and a 6.8 H/9. 6 of the 17 runs he allowed were also scored “unearned”
