I’m going to apologize right off the bat for repeating myself within the first 20 seconds with the line “We’ve got some baseball to talk about.” This was a long episode, and from an editing perspective, even longer.

Either way, I hope that you enjoy the rest of the show.

  2. Nate says:

Yep, awesome because he’s on the Royals now. Check. Posnanski just wrote a sentimental, Jeff Francouer blowjob article about how you just gotta cheer for him because he’s the epitome of the hard-working underdog or some crap like that. Whatever, dude. Screw Francoeur. He was a cocky douchebag at Parkview that thought he was mankind’s greatest gift to sports, and now I have to read Posnanski sappily write about how JF plays the game the right way, with the pure baseball enthusiasm and happiness of a child. No, he plays with the twinkle in his eye and the bounce in his step that only a child who cares nothing about a lifetime .310 OBP can have. My favorite Francoeur line, “If OBP is so important, then why don’t they put it on the scoreboard?”

Oh, and the podcast not working for me. All I’m hearing is silence after I load. Still messing around with it, maybe it’s just me…

  3. Hmm. Try downloading it and listening to it off your PC.

apparently the podbean podcast rss feed is http://username.podbean.com/feed. At least that is what is what it says on their faq http://faq.podbean.com/2006/08/18/what-is-my-feed-url/

    http://faq.podbean.com/podcast-faq-index/

can you try and post that and see if it works?

  5. Brian says:

I think alot of people would say it’s time to lay off Jeff Francoeur.

I am not one of those people.

Also, some of you probably saw that Garrett Anderson officially retired yesterday. I think most of us Braves fans are in agreement that he retired prior to the 2009 season.

  6. Jabuck says:

    awesome. thanks.

  7. itpc://caccast.podbean.com/feed to subscribe.

  8. Added a widget to the top of the right sidebar called “CAC Podcast” with a link to the RSS and a link to subscribe to it via iTunes. The first two episodes aren’t available on iTunes, but they all will be going forward (including episode 3).

  9. Noticed an editing error where I accidentally copied part of the over/under segment onto the end of the Braves tweet of the week segment. Fixed now.

  10. Brian says:

    An off topic question….

Has it been anounced who will be the broadcasting team this year for the Braves? I haven’t been able to find any info on it online. Personally I hope they replace Chip Caray.

If anyone has any info it would be much appreciated.

  11. Jared says:

Haven’t listened to it yet, but I can already say I like your taste in music. Especially The Band, MMJ and DBT.

  12. Nate says:

Nice, guys. Keeps getting better and better.

  13. Dattebayo says:

On espn3 the broadcasters are Valentine and Hersheiser, a marked improvement over The Unmentionables. Also, has anyone seen B-Mac this spring? His batting stance has changed. He doesn’t stand flat footed anymore.

  14. Jared says:

Funny listening to Bobby V and Hershiser talking about Kenny Rogers walking Andruw with the bases loaded in the ’99 NLCS.

Delgado getting knocked around pretty good in the 9th.

  15. Jon says:

@Brian: I have the MLB.TV pass, so I normally mute the TV and play the radio (since you get both in the subscription). I enjoy Jim Powell and Don Sutton, and they seem to always have a good rapport.

Never heard too many games on TV since I’ve always been out of the Atlanta market (completely so since TBS stopped being the exclusive Braves station), but I’ve always had the radio to turn to to be able to listen to the games.

  16. Jabuck says:

@ jon, MLB.TV also had a awesome feature where it would sync the radio audio with the TV Video.

  17. Jabuck says:

just finished it, best one yet.

    • Kevin Orris says:

Thanks Jabuck. I’ll admit that it’s much easier to do a podcast involving 30 teams compared to one. It will be easier from a content perspective come the second week of April when both Majors and Minors are underway and there’s legitimate stats and such to talk about. I’ll admit the first ten minutes or so were a little rough, but I think we did great once we hit the 30 teams.

  18. JFH says:

I think I’m probably in the vast minority here in the fact that I actually kind of like Chip Carey, though I admit he does say some dumb shit. Someone needs to tell Chip what “fisted” is a euphamism for.

Awesome that you can now sync the radio feed w the video on mlb tv. Unfortunately up here in New York City all the games are blacked out, since I like listening to Keith Hernandez’ commentary since he’s such a dick.

  19. Luke M says:

Keith Hernandez is great in the booth, he’s such a straight shooter.

The Mets crew is pretty tolerable, all things considered. Living up here in NY, I’ve taken a liking to their broadcast.

Awesome news on the mlb.tv radio sync. I may have to do use that instead of Chip’s butchering of a game. I love Joe Simpson, I just feel bad that he’s so often saddled with Chip and/or John “as a pitcher, here’s what I would do in this situation” Smoltz.
