Make Medlen a starter, move Teheran into Medlen’s current role as a long reliever (I think that is what you call it), and get rid of Jurrjens. Trade him, move him to the minors, just do something to get rid of him. Rotation would be Hanson, Minor, Beachy, Medlen and Delgado. Bullpen would be Teheran, Livan Hernandez (…), Durbin, Cristhian Martinez, O’Flaherty, Venters, and Kimbrel. When Hudson returns, drop whoever is doing the worst in the starting rotation and either move them to the bullpen or down to triple-A. Please, no more Jurrjens!

Please trade anyone who is not hitting. The 2012 Braves already have showed they can’t hit. No moves at the end of last year, and the Braves look JUST like they did when the season ended. HORRIBLE!! Fire Freddie and get a manager who knows how to get a team motivated. Freddie is not Bobby…

  2. Neverwhere says:

I haven’t paid attention, as I wasn’t that into baseball a few years ago when he was with the team, and I didn’t see him much last year – but has Matt Diaz always had this terrible approach? He got a walk, but he looked just awful.

  3. Tim says:

I wonder if the people claiming that we’re overracting because it’s just 2 games will show up and say it’s just 3 games? Pretty soon 3 games turns into 30 and 30 into 60 and before you know it the season will be over just as it was last season when the Braves needed 1 win and couldn’t get it.

  4. Tim says:

What is the deal with our pitchers that once they get to the 5th inning all hell breaks loose? The only starting pitcher the Braves got that doesn’t crumble in the 5th inning is Tim Hudson. Everyone else crumbles once the 5th inning comes.

  5. Windu says:

Brian McCann and Lucas Duda were separated at birth.

  6. Icebox says:

Hi Tim. It’s just three games. Mark B, loving the parody. Keep it up.

  7. amicusterrae says:

Why was Wilson starting at SS? Pastornicky hurt? He doesn’t need a day off on day 3. The lineup sucked. Diaz is a black hole.

  8. Lukas B. says:

The Braves aren’t awful. Unfortunately, neither are the Mets. The tandem of Murphy, who looks to be for real, Wright, who looks healthy and awesome, and Zippety is going to cause problems for whoever faces the Mets this year. Getting out of the East will be extremely difficult.

Pasto has a rag arm to go with a likeably scrappy makeup.

Constanza isn’t a good baseball player.

Jason Heyward should be hitting earlier in the lineup. Despite appearing to ‘press’ slightly late in games due to being followed by two donuts, he still made the team’s best offensive showing of the series.

Undermanagement of the bullpen and overmanagement of the offense remain the major flaws in Fredi’s generally poor ‘style’ of running the Braves. We shouldn’t have expected that to change. I wonder if FW knows that FG sucks and keeps him around because he knows/believes managers don’t matter much. FW is smart. Fredi ain’t. What gives?

  9. Zerg539 says:

So who else wanted to punch Fredi through the television set after he sat Hinske for Constanza in the 7th, the bases were empty and you were about to have your lead off man. Please give us a chance to at least have a man on, or a Hinske homer. Other than that its time to move Heyward up in the order to the six spot, and I think we should make Fredi a new bullpen flowchart.

    • Windu says:

Well i can see where he was coming from, he didn’t want to waste Hinske with no one on base. But i would rather hinske face Acosta at the time than face Francisco or risk not having his spot come up. At least this time there was some kind of logic to his madness, even though i don’t agree with it.

  10. JeffinNC says:

@Lukas: I agree completely about Heyward. Dude needs to be hitting higher up.

    • Tim says:

I have said all winter and since the beginning of spring training that in order for the Braves to do anything this season Jason Heyward is going to have to produce and he’s going to have to do it from the #2 hole. But Fredi Gonzalez is steadfast about keeping Prado. Putting Heyward in the #2 hole gives the lineup for flexiblity by putting Prado lower in the order where he’s more comfortable not having to change his approach with Bourn on base. Plus it keeps the Braves from having 3 straight lefties in a row without having to put Diaz furthur up in the order than he should be when he’s in the lineup. It just makes too much sense and for that reason it will not happen. Seeing Jason Heyward in the #2 hole or #3 hole (which Chipper at #2) just will not happen.

  11. rcunnyftw says:

Tim – even if u put *our* boy JHey in the #2 hole, frediot is going to have him doing “stupid ass shit” aka bunting or some other low % play.

Dont get me wrong, im all ab JHey hitting higher in the lineup and im totally DTF on some JHey + Bourn hit & runs (#vroooom)….but I just dont think its going to be a good move if frediot pushes jhey towards the low % plays.

Only way that I see to move JHey up in the lineup and also thwart Frediot’s overmanaging is to put Chipper in the 2 hole w/ JHey in the 3 spot. I firmly believe that Frediot doesn’t have the cojones to put the sac bunt on w/ Chipper “The Met Killer” Jones at the plate.

  12. Todd says:

I don’t care about Fredi supporting a party of the circus story of an entirely different league and sport. Why do the beat writers need to report on this? I know we’re off to a rough start, but there HAS to be something more relevant to talk about. Come on DOBlows.
