Thank You Mac Thomason

August 28, 2012 at 3:22 pm by under Atlanta Braves

As some of you may know, Mac Thomason, one of the original internet baseball bloggers, has been dealing with cancer for some time. Mac’s work can be found at Braves Journal, if you had never read it before. It is very unfortunate that I only have bad news to bring, as according to his blog, Mac is being moved to hospice.

Without Mac, I doubt this blog ever exists. I believe Peter would attest to this. I speak for all of CAC, and I imagine for the entire Braves blogosphere when I say this:

Thank you Mac Thomason, for everything.

    Francoeur delenda est.

One of my favorite recurring jokes from Mac over the years. Whomever the “delenda est” du jour was kept me chuckling.

It’d be nice if the Braves respected bloggers and could do something for Mac to say thanks. Without him many of us don’t care nearly as much as we do today.

I am so sorry to hear this. Mac’s blog was one of the first Braves blogs I ever read. In fact, as a big Braves autograph collector, my primary objective has been to obtain all Braves HOFers and his list of the 44 greatest Atlanta Braves.

Wishing Mac all the best and I thank you for all of the enjoyment your blog has provided me over the years.

I agree. Wish we could show some love for the man. Go Bravos!

Best of luck Mac and thanks for reaching out to braves fan. I read the site daily. Bless you in your treatment and will lift you up this evening.

Sad news instead. Here’s hoping for a recovery, or at the very least, a comfortable ending.

  6. Arthur says:

The Braves radio broadcast honored Mac in the second inning I believe.

  7. Carlos Collazo says:

Terrible stuff. Without Mac, we might not even be here right now. Here’s to you bud.

Incredibly sad. I hope he’s comfortable and at peace. I was also glad to see the post in recognition of him and I hope that some of the other Braves blogs follow suit. His blog was one of the first I ever started following.
